Since 1952, the most famous of all pilot’s watches, the Breitling Navitimer and its iconic flying slide rule bezel have been the first choice of true aviation enthusiasts. More recently, the hard-working watch has taken on more responsibility with the release of the 2022 Navitimer World, a 46 mm best replica watches with an additional GMT complication that adds a 24-hour scale to a dial already filled with logarithmic scales.
However, while it’s easy to imagine that displaying all this information would be too cluttered and confusing, they’re all perfectly clear and intuitive. The movement is the Breitling 24, an automatic movement based on the ETA/Valjoux 7754. It is chronometer-certified and offers users a reserve of 42 hours and a balance speed of 28,800 vph. The Breitling Navitimer World is available with a black or blue dial and an option of a leather strap or Breitling’s sophisticated seven-link steel bracelet. Probably the most complete pilot’s tool watch, the Navitimer World covers almost every function.
The dial itself is the definition of legibility, with huge luminous Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock in a proprietary font, and large equally luminous bars for the rest of the numerals. With its own subdial at 9 o’clock, the case is typically cushion-shaped, with the signature lever-controlled bridge to protect the winding crown. The hands are different, however, with a chunky main hand with luminescent ends and a GMT hand with a small arrow pointing to the 24-hour scale on the edge of the dial. The date display is located at 3 o’clock and has a Cyclops-style internal magnifying glass above it.
Under the hood is the OP XXXI movement, a self-winding movement based on the ETA/Valjoux 7750. Perhaps the most widely used third-party movement ever made, it actually started life as a chronograph. However, Panerai has removed the luxury replica watches module and replaced it with their own GMT unit. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a healthy 50-hour power reserve.
